Enterprise key and certificate management (EKCM) company Venafi is making a Gartner report available on its website. The report - X.509 Certificate Management: Avoiding Downtime and Brand Damage - highlights the time, cost and vulnerabilities associated with manually reviewing and managing security certificates. The report analyses manual techniques, discusses methods for remediating resulting problems, and underscores the need to protect enterprise assets by automating certificate management. Jeff Hudson Venafi CEO said, "What's amazing is how few people know just how many certificates are installed and in use, when they are going to expire, or who the issuing CAs are."

Roke Manor Research has been appointed by CESG, the UK Government's national technical authority for information assurance, as the UK's only Conformance Test Facility for Protocol Requirements for IP Modular Encryption (PRIME). The PRIME framework is the UK's framework for ensuring interoperability between large UK government networks such as the Public Services Network (PSN). Network encryption devices claiming conformance to the PRIME framework must undergo independent testing by Roke which is conducted using the Tester for IP Modular Encryption (TIME) tool. This is software developed by Roke to test conformance to PRIME specifications.
