Continuing UK expansion with software-defined data centre offering.

Europe’s largest cloud hosting provider, OVH, has launched a new Private Cloud solution: Software-Defined Datacentre (SDDC), now available through OVH’s recently-opened London data centre. SDDC offers UK businesses a market-leading solution that combines dedicated hardware with the scalability and flexibility of the cloud, all virtualised using VMware technology. Both the hardware and virtualisation are fully managed by OVH and can be deployed within 60 minutes, via the company’s website.

The SDDC solution, recognised as a breakthrough innovation in the data centre market, opens up a new way of managing infrastructure in three key areas: data centre extension, data centre replacement and data centre recovery. OVH Private Cloud complies with the ISO 27001, CSA STAR, SOC I and II type 2 and offers UK businesses the best price-performance ratio available today. For ease of budgeting, the pricing is fixed, and the packages all include VMware licences, unlimited traffic and guaranteed bandwidth within its 15Tbps+ network.

A considerable number of OVH’s UK customers already use SDDC in other data centre locations and the company predicts high demand for the product in London thanks to the value it adds. This includes the highly competitive price-performance ratio and local hosting capabilities.

“The launch of SDDC in our London datacentre demonstrates our continued commitment to the UK market,” said Hiren Parekh, MD at OVH UK. “OVH Private Cloud is our flagship product and, thanks to SDDC, is being made available with latest vSphere 6.5 system, as well as a host of new configurations. We are now able to provide our UK customers with local hosting, lower latency and the latest performance-enhancing technology.”
